We have a local client looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic with a great great can-do attitude looking to step up. This role is a full-time position that rotates weekly with afternoon shift. 

Main duties / Responsibilities 

Coordinate a small team to conduct scheduled and breakdown service to the following:

• Prime movers.
• Single and B double trailers.
• Small rigid trucks.
• Delivery vans.
• Forklifts.
• Various mobile plant.
• Dwellings and fixtures.

Other Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all work done meets all Australian laws and standards. For example; all A, B and C servicing to trucks and trailers is to have a final assessment prior to recommissioning to ensure it meets all the standards it is held to; Australian Compliance, HVAC, Mass Management…
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all documentation is complete and correct.
• Other tasks as directed.
• Over-time as required to adhere to a maintenance schedule.
• Over-time as required to cover absenteeism.
• Weekend work as required to adhere to a maintenance schedule.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications: 

• Certificate III in Engineering – Diesel Fitting.
• Multi-Combination license (ideal).
• A/C certification (ideal).
• Auto-Elec (ideal)

Ideal Experience:

• 3 or more years as a qualified trades person.
• 3 or more years’ experience in a lead role.
• 3 or more years’ experience with Freightliner trucks.

Skills:

• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to prioritize the workload.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Be organized and able to meet deadlines
